Bo Blankenship, CFP®, MTA, is well known and respected in the financial industry. With more than 30 years of financial planning experience, Bo’s focuses on helping individuals avoid common financial mistakes by developing and implementing strategies for wealth accumulation, estate planning, and tax reduction.
Bo received his undergraduate degree in accounting and his master's in tax accounting from Virginia Tech. He is a proud member of the 1984 Independence Bowl team and the 1986 Peach Bowl team. Upon graduation, he worked at KPMG Peat Marwick for three years in the tax department.
Before founding FocusOne, Bo served as managing director for MetLife Western Virginia for 17 years, growing the Roanoke location to the top-performing office in the state. He is highly regarded for his consulting skills and has been instrumental in training numerous financial professionals.
Bo lives in Roanoke with his wife, Libby, and sons Lucas and Tyler. He is an active member of the community and serves on several nonprofit boards.
R Benjamin Fry, CFP®, CLTC®

Ben Fry, CFP®, CLTC®, With more than 15 years of experience in the financial planning field, especially in the areas of asset management, financial planning, insurance, and retirement planning.
Ben specializes in the areas of retirement income distribution strategies and taxation strategies. Being placed in such a position of trust is a privilege and Ben listens to clients' needs, never choosing short-term gains at the cost of unacceptable risk.
After receiving his BS in economics from Hampden-Sydney College, Ben returned to Roanoke and began his career in financial services. Since then, Ben has developed a thriving practice while consulting and training other financial professionals.
Ben lives in Salem, Virginia, with his wife, Whitney, and daughters Sydney and Taylor. He serves on the board for Health Focus of Southwest Virginia and is a deacon at Salem Presbyterian Church.
Adam Z Peters, CFP®, AIF®
Founder and Partner
Adam Peters, CFP®, AIF®, is a second-generation financial advisor who focuses his practice on helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate through their financial lives. Adam has his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation from Ohio State (Go Buckeyes!), which has helped him design and implement efficient financial strategies in the more than eight years of his practice. Adam enjoys figuring out his clients’ unique situations and creating strategies to produce the best possible outcomes.
Adam’s clients enjoy his straightforward, prudent approach to investment management and insurance planning. He makes a point of educating his clients during the process so they can better understand their own financial position.
Adam earned his BA in economics and business from the Virginia Military Institute (Go Keydets!), He was a four-year letterman and a captain of the football team. Adam was also selected to the All-Big South team 2 during his four years at VMI. He currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors for Virginia Amateur Sports, a state-wide nonprofit organization. Adam is an avid college sports fan and enjoys playing in several recreational sports leagues around Roanoke.

With 26 years of experience in the financial services industry, Gerald Tuck researches current and potential investment options for our clients. The development and implementation of recommendations are a major part of his role with FocusOne. This includes monitoring, trading, rebalancing, and performance evaluation of clients’ accounts.
Gerald received his BA in economics from George Mason University. A native of Bedford County, he now lives in Roanoke, Virginia.
Tim Cone, LUTCF
Tim Cone has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, covering a broad range of areas including banking, insurance, investments, compliance, and operations. His role with FocusOne primarily focuses on assisting Gerald with research and implementation of investment strategies, including monitoring, trading, rebalancing, and performance evaluation of accounts.
Tim earned his BS from Virginia Tech and currently lives in Roanoke, Virginia, with his four children. He is active in the community with a number of youth sports teams.
Client Relationship Manager
Lisa Fonacier came to FocusOne as Bo’s client relationship manager in August 2014. With a background in business administration, she handles review meeting preparation and client service work for Bo’s practice.
Lisa and her husband, Lee, moved to Roanoke in 2006 with their two sons Garrett and Grant. Outside of the office, she loves hiking with her two sheepadoodles ND and Ana, and is active with Notre Dame Club of Blue Ridge.
Executive Assistant to Adam Peters
Morgan Jessee joined FocusOne in May 2016 as Adam’s executive assistant. With a background in retail management, she is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and knows the value of excellent customer service.
Born and raised in Roanoke, Morgan now lives in Daleville with her French bulldog Dexter, and cat Tina. Outside of the office, she enjoys volunteering at a local animal shelter and coordinating social media marketing for a local ballet company.
Executive Assistant to Ben Fry
Yvonne Lavinder joined the FocusOne team in 2015 as Ben’s executive assistant. Prior to this, she was the client services manager for Greystone Financial Group, where she helped process new business and handled all client relations for the group for 11 years.
Yvonne enjoys volunteering at her church; hiking with her husband, Mark, of 30+ years; and snuggling with Siegen, their German shorthair pointer. During football season, she loves attending Virginia Tech games with her son, Mason, who is a Hokie majoring in aerospace engineering.
New Business Analyst and Executive Assistant to Bo Blankenship
Diana Smith joined the FocusOne team in 2014 with 20 years of experience in the financial industry. As Bo’s executive assistant and new business analyst, she skillfully executes administrative duties and client relations for his practice.
Diana started in the financial industry in 1998 with American Express before going to work for Cetera and Jerry Peters, where she handled all compliance and operations as a branch office manager.
Diana loves to travel with her sons and has lived in several places abroad. She studied at Michigan State University, Regent’s College London, and Mary Baldwin College. Diana enjoys any time she can spend near the ocean, swimming, searching for sea glass, and shelling.
